i discovered this weekend that mulch is gods gift to busy homeowners. while i fully intend to have gardens — someday — the impromptu decision to install mulch around the house this weekend was by far a winning one.
some tips:
1. dont skimp. if you think it might be thin, add more. mulch is cheap.
2. however many bags you think you’ll need, double it and add two. it makes a nice top layer in pots if you happen to have extra.
3. dont overcomplicate it: rip bag, dump, spread.
4. allow an extra 10 minutes for post-oogling and taking pictures to brag on your favorite social media site (remember to take “before” pictures for extra awe)
